Karnataka Badminton Association seeks government support for infrastructure development

Bengaluru: The Karnataka Badminton Association (KBA) submitted a representation to the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Karnataka, Siddaramaiah, seeking support for infrastructure expansion and the creation of international-standard badminton facilities in the state.
The delegation appreciated the Karnataka government’s strong commitment to sports development, particularly badminton, under the leadership of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. Established over seven decades ago, the Karnataka Badminton Association has played a pivotal role in nurturing thousands of talented players who have brought laurels to the state at national and international levels.
Legends such as Padma Shri awardee Prakash Padukone and international shuttler Lakshya Sen stand as shining examples of the association’s rich legacy in badminton.

In the current highly competitive sporting environment, young athletes require world-class infrastructure, scientific training methods, modern coaching facilities and holistic support systems to excel at the global level. In this context, the KBA has requested government assistance for the expansion of its infrastructure, establishment of international-standard stadiums and training centres, and the promotion of talent from district and rural regions.
The association expressed confidence that with sustained government support, talent from every corner of Karnataka will emerge, enabling the state to scale new heights in the field of badminton.
