Adani New Industries to Manufacture India’s Longest Wind Turbine Blades at Mundra
Mundra (Gujarat) – Adani New Industries Limited (ANIL), the renewable manufacturing arm of the Adani Group, is set to manufacture 91.2-metre onshore wind turbine blades at its facility in Mundra. These will be the longest wind turbine blades ever produced in India, marking a significant milestone in the country’s renewable energy sector.
Massive Scale, Greater Energy Output
Measuring 91.2 metres—nearly the length of a football field—the blades will enable a rotor diameter of approximately 185 metres. This larger rotor size significantly increases wind energy capture, particularly in low-wind regions.
The blades are specifically designed for 5 MW and above capacity turbines, enhancing efficiency and power generation output. Industry experts believe this development will strengthen India’s push towards clean and sustainable energy solutions.
Production Timeline
Following the initial installation phase, serial production of the blades is anticipated to begin in 2026. The move aligns with India’s broader renewable energy goals and the government’s focus on expanding domestic manufacturing capabilities.
Expansion of Mundra Facility
The Mundra manufacturing facility is also undergoing a major expansion. ANIL plans to increase its annual production capacity from 2.25 GW to 10 GW. The expansion includes significant investments in automation, advanced manufacturing technologies, and high-precision engineering systems to ensure global competitiveness.
With this initiative, Adani New Industries Limited aims to position India as a key global hub for renewable energy manufacturing while accelerating the country’s transition towards greener power generation.
