13th Edition of India–Kyrgyzstan Joint Military Exercise KHANJAR Begins in Assam
Misamari (Assam): The 13th edition of the joint military exercise KHANJAR between India and Kyrgyzstan commenced today at Misamari in the Sonitpur district of Assam. The exercise marks another significant step in strengthening bilateral defence cooperation and deepening the enduring military partnership between the two friendly nations.
Scheduled to continue until 17 February, the exercise aims to enhance interoperability between the special forces of both countries. The training will focus on joint operations in urban warfare and counter-terrorism scenarios, particularly under a United Nations mandate.
Exercise KHANJAR provides a valuable platform for the exchange of best practices, tactical drills, and operational experiences, enabling both forces to improve coordination and operational readiness in complex security environments.
The previous edition of the India–Kyrgyzstan joint military exercise was conducted in Kyrgyzstan in March 2025. Since its inception in 2011, Exercise KHANJAR has been held regularly, alternating between the two countries, and has played a vital role in fostering mutual trust, understanding, and professional camaraderie between the armed forces of India and Kyrgyzstan.
