Women’s Awareness Conference Held on the Occasion of International Women’s Day

Bengaluru: On the occasion of International Women’s Day, a Women’s Awareness Conference was organized by Akhil Bharatiya Grahak Panchayat, Bengaluru Mahanagar, at the Yadava Smruti Hall located in Seshadripuram, Bengaluru.

The program was inaugurated by senior journalist K. H. Savitri Suresh Kumar. In her inaugural address, she said that women face many challenges in life while successfully fulfilling their responsibilities, and therefore women should feel proud of themselves. She advised that women should not be influenced by temptations or advertisements but should focus on building a confident and successful life.
Senior legal expert Meera Padike, who attended the event as the chief guest, spoke about the importance of women being aware of their rights and making greater use of legal provisions. She explained various aspects of legal protection for women with relevant examples.

Advocate Ambika, who conducted the discussion session, emphasized that consumers must be cautious about misleading advertisements. She pointed out that women are often subjected to exploitation through misleading advertisements, unfair trade practices, and cyber crimes. She further noted that legal measures are available to address such issues and urged consumers to make proper use of these legal provisions.
Presiding over the program, Dr. Vijaya Vishnu Bhat said that the women’s conference organized by Grahak Panchayat is an important initiative aimed at creating awareness among women. He urged everyone to work together with determination to spread awareness in society so that people are not misled by attractive advertisements.
During the event, Manjula Akka beautifully rendered the Grahak Geete (Consumer Song). Several distinguished women and male volunteers participated in the program and contributed to its success. The event concluded with the recitation of the Shanti Mantra.
