PM Narendra Modi Arrives in Kuala Lumpur, Receives Warm Welcome from Malaysian Leadership

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Kuala Lumpur on an official visit today, receiving a warm and symbolic welcome that underscored the strong and enduring ties between India and Malaysia.

In a special gesture reflecting the importance Malaysia attaches to its relationship with India, Prime Minister Modi was personally received at the airport by Malaysian Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim. He was accompanied by Malaysia’s Minister of Human Resources, Dato’ Sri Ramanan Ramakrishnan, and Deputy Foreign Minister, Dato’ Lukanisman bin Awang Sauni.

Following his arrival, Prime Minister Modi was accorded a vibrant cultural reception showcasing the shared civilizational and cultural heritage of the two nations. The welcome highlighted centuries-old people-to-people ties and the deep cultural linkages that continue to strengthen bilateral relations.

Malaysia remains a key partner in India’s Act East Policy, Vision MAHASAGAR, and the broader Indo-Pacific vision. The visit is expected to provide significant momentum to India–Malaysia relations, further deepening cooperation across trade, investment, defence, education, technology, and cultural exchange.

Both leaders are scheduled to hold comprehensive discussions aimed at expanding collaboration in regional and global matters of mutual interest. The visit reaffirms India’s commitment to strengthening partnerships in Southeast Asia and advancing a shared vision for peace, prosperity, and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
