PM Modi Speaks with Bahrain King, Condemns Attacks on Kingdom
New Delhi/Manama | March 3, 2026 :
Amid escalating tensions in the Gulf region, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a telephonic conversation with Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, strongly condemning the recent attacks targeting the Kingdom.
During the discussion, Prime Minister Modi expressed solidarity with Bahrain and reaffirmed India’s commitment to peace, stability, and security in the region. He conveyed concern over the safety of civilians and critical infrastructure following recent missile and drone incidents linked to the widening Middle East conflict.
Assurance for Indian Community
The Prime Minister also emphasized the importance of safeguarding the large Indian community residing in Bahrain. He assured that the Government of India is closely monitoring the situation and remains prepared to take necessary measures to ensure the safety and well-being of Indian nationals.
Bahrain hosts a significant number of Indian expatriates, many of whom work in sectors such as construction, healthcare, finance, and services, contributing to the Kingdom’s economic development.
Call for De-escalation
Both leaders reportedly discussed the need for restraint and diplomatic efforts to prevent further escalation in the Gulf. The conversation underscores India’s proactive engagement with key regional partners during a period of heightened geopolitical uncertainty.
As tensions continue across the Middle East, international diplomatic outreach has intensified, with global leaders urging dialogue and de-escalation to restore stability in the region.
