PM Modi Reviews Energy Situation Amid West Asia Tensions

New Delhi | March 11, 2026:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a high-level meeting with senior ministers to review the impact of the ongoing tensions in West Asia on India’s energy security and fuel supply.

According to official sources, the meeting focused on assessing the possible effects of the regional crisis on India’s crude oil imports, petrol prices, and LPG availability. With global energy markets showing signs of volatility, the government is closely monitoring developments to safeguard the country’s energy needs.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Modi directed officials to take all necessary steps to ensure that Indian consumers are not affected by any potential shortage or sudden increase in fuel prices. He emphasized the importance of maintaining adequate fuel supplies and stabilizing the domestic market.

Senior government officials also reviewed contingency plans to manage possible disruptions in oil supply chains. India imports a significant portion of its crude oil from countries in West Asia, making the region strategically important for the country’s energy security.

The government has assured that it is keeping a close watch on the situation and will take timely measures to protect consumers and maintain stability in fuel availability across the country.
