PM Modi Launches Major Development Projects, Flags Off New Trains in Thiruvananthapuram
Thiruvananthapuram: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today launched a series of major developmental initiatives and flagged off new train services in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, giving a significant boost to infrastructure, transport and urban development in the state.
The Prime Minister launched the PM SVANidhi Credit Card and disbursed PM SVANidhi loans to one lakh beneficiaries, aimed at empowering street vendors and strengthening their livelihoods. He also flagged off four new train services, including three Amrit Bharat Express trains and one passenger train, enhancing rail connectivity and passenger convenience.
Further strengthening scientific research and healthcare infrastructure, Mr Modi laid the foundation stone for the CSIR–National Institute for Interdisciplinary Science and Technology (CSIR-NIIST) Innovation, Technology and Entrepreneurship Hub. He also laid the foundation stone for a state-of-the-art Radiosurgery Centre at the Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology. In addition, the Prime Minister inaugurated the new Poojappura Head Post Office, improving postal services in the city.
Addressing a public gathering, Prime Minister Modi said the entire nation is working cohesively towards the vision of ‘Viksit Bharat’, adding that cities have a crucial role to play in achieving this goal. He noted that the Central Government has made substantial investments in urban infrastructure over the past 11 years, resulting in improved connectivity, better public services and enhanced quality of life.
The Prime Minister’s visit and the launch of multiple projects underline the Centre’s continued focus on inclusive development, modern infrastructure and economic growth in Kerala.
