PG Medical Admissions Extended by One Day in Karnataka

Bengaluru | March 11, 2026:
The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has reopened the admission process for postgraduate (PG) medical courses for one additional day after a significant number of seats remained vacant in the latest round of counselling.

Officials from KEA announced that eligible candidates were allowed to report to the authority’s office in Malleswaram, Bengaluru, with the necessary documents and admission fees to complete the process. The extension was granted to ensure that remaining seats in medical colleges across the state could be filled without delay.

According to authorities, several seats were still unoccupied following the previous counselling round, prompting the decision to reopen the process temporarily. Candidates who had not completed the admission formalities earlier were given the opportunity to participate and secure available seats.

The KEA also confirmed that the final seat allotment results were scheduled to be announced on the evening of March 11, after verifying documents and processing the applications received during the extended admission window.

The move is expected to help fill the remaining vacancies in PG medical courses and ensure that academic sessions in medical institutions across Karnataka begin without disruption.
