Missing Siblings Traced, Reunited with Parents in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: In a major relief to their family, two siblings—a 13-year-old girl and her 9-year-old brother—who had gone missing from Ashwath Nagar in Marathahalli were traced and safely reunited with their parents on Tuesday.

According to police, the children left their house around 3 pm on the 1st after being scolded by their parents for skipping tuition classes. Upset over the reprimand, the siblings decided to leave home. The elder sister reportedly used her Aadhaar card to travel without paying a fare, while the younger brother travelled without a ticket.

During their journey, the siblings moved across several parts of Karnataka, including Shivamogga and Chitradurga. When the children failed to return home, their parents lodged a missing complaint at the HAL Police Station.

Following the complaint, the police issued a statewide alert and circulated the children’s details and photographs on social media platforms. Acting on this information, members of the public in Chitradurga identified the siblings and immediately informed the police.

The children were subsequently traced, brought back to the HAL Police Station, and safely handed over to their parents after verification. Police officials appreciated the timely intervention of the public, stating that their cooperation played a crucial role in ensuring the safe return of the minors.
Further counselling was provided to the children and their family, police added.
