New Delhi: The Lok Sabha is set to resume discussions today on three crucial legislations aimed at enhancing women’s participation in India’s democratic system.
The bills under consideration include the Constitution (131st Amendment) Bill, 2026, Delimitation Bill, 2026, and Union Territories Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2026.

These measures are intended to operationalize the provisions of the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam, which provides for nearly one-third reservation of seats for women in the Lok Sabha and state legislative assemblies.

The proposed legislations will facilitate the delimitation of constituencies and ensure effective implementation of women’s reservation in Parliament and state assemblies.
