Jaishankar Highlights FTA as Game Changer at Inaugural India-EU Forum
New Delhi: External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar on Thursday addressed the inaugural India-EU Forum, underlining the growing depth and strategic importance of the partnership between India and the European Union.
Speaking at the forum, Dr. Jaishankar described the India-EU Free Trade Agreement (FTA) as a game-changing development that has significantly strengthened bilateral ties. He noted that the agreement has created new momentum in economic engagement and opened pathways for deeper cooperation.

Beyond trade, the External Affairs Minister highlighted several other dimensions that hold immense potential for collaboration, including security and defence cooperation, climate action, technology partnerships, and talent mobility. He emphasized that these areas reflect shared interests and converging priorities between India and the EU in an evolving global landscape.
Dr. Jaishankar expressed hope that the India-EU Forum would serve as a sustained platform for dialogue, fostering meaningful conversations and greater convergence between stakeholders from both sides.
