Heavy Rain and Hailstorms Lash Karnataka, IMD Issues Continued Alert

Several parts of Karnataka, including Bengaluru, witnessed sudden spells of heavy rain accompanied by hailstorms, bringing an unexpected shift in weather conditions across the state.

The unseasonal rainfall disrupted normal life in many areas, affecting traffic movement and daily activities. According to the India Meteorological Department, thunderstorms and scattered showers are likely to continue across Karnataka until March 22.

Northern districts such as Belagavi and Bagalkot also reported intense rainfall along with hail, prompting authorities to issue alerts for the coming days.

Officials have advised residents to remain cautious, especially in areas prone to waterlogging and sudden weather fluctuations. Farmers, in particular, have been urged to take necessary precautions to safeguard crops from potential damage caused by hailstorms.

The ongoing weather disturbance highlights the need for preparedness as Karnataka continues to experience fluctuating climatic conditions.
