Flight Disruptions Persist in Bahrain and Qatar Amid Ongoing Airspace Closures

Manama/Doha | March 4, 2026:

Flight operations in Bahrain and Qatar continue to face significant disruptions as airspace closures remain in effect due to escalating regional tensions.

National carriers Gulf Air and Qatar Airways have temporarily suspended several of their operations, citing safety concerns and regulatory restrictions. Both airlines stated that flight services will resume only after receiving official clearance from the respective civil aviation authorities.

Airport authorities in Manama and Doha confirmed that passenger safety remains the top priority, and coordination efforts are underway with regional aviation bodies to monitor the evolving situation. Several inbound and outbound flights have either been cancelled or delayed, leaving travelers advised to remain in close contact with their airlines.

Airlines have urged passengers not to proceed to airports without confirmed flight status updates. Travelers are encouraged to check official airline websites, mobile applications, or customer service channels for the latest information regarding rescheduling, refunds, or alternative arrangements.

The ongoing airspace restrictions are part of broader precautionary measures being implemented across parts of the Middle East, as regional instability continues to impact civilian aviation networks.

Authorities have not yet announced a timeline for the full restoration of normal flight operations. Further updates are expected as the situation develops.
