Expansion of Sangh Reflects Growth of National Thought: RSS Leader Dattatreya Hosabale
New Delhi | March 16:
The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has reiterated its message of unity and social harmony, stating that all people share common ancestral roots and that differences in methods of worship should not create divisions in society.
Speaking during organisational discussions, Dattatreya Hosabale, the RSS Sarkaryavah (General Secretary), said that the expansion of the Sangh reflects the broader expansion of national thought and cultural consciousness in society.
RSS leaders emphasised that humanity shares a common origin and that cultural diversity in worship or traditions should not be a cause for division. The third Sarsanghchalak of the RSS, Balasaheb Deoras, had earlier stated that those who consider Bharat as their motherland and live by the spirit of “Bharatiyata” are regarded as part of the larger Hindu cultural identity. He also maintained that the Sangh welcomes everyone and recognises anyone engaged in positive work for society as a Sangh Swayamsevak.
Participation Across the Country
The organisation highlighted strong public participation in its programmes across various regions of the country. In the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, more than 13,000 people from nine major islands attended a Hindu Sammelan held in the presence of the RSS Sarsanghchalak.
Similarly, in Arunachal Pradesh, a state known for its sparse population, over 37,000 people took part in 21 Swadharma Sammelans organised across the region.
Honouring Great Personalities
On the occasion of the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur, the ninth Sikh Guru, RSS volunteers organised more than 2,000 programmes across India. According to organisers, the events witnessed participation from over seven lakh people.
RSS leaders emphasised that society should rise above divisions of caste and faith while recognising the contributions of great personalities and drawing inspiration from their lives for positive social transformation.
Organisational Restructuring
During the meeting of the Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha, discussions were also held on expanding the Sangh’s activities while improving the organisational structure. Leaders proposed decentralisation within the organisation to enhance efficiency, coordination, and ease of work at various levels.
The meeting highlighted the organisation’s continued focus on strengthening social outreach, organisational development, and the promotion of national unity and cultural values.
