CBI, Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre Conclude National Conference on Tackling Cyber-Enabled Frauds
New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre have concluded a two-day National Conference in New Delhi focused on combating cyber-enabled frauds and dismantling the ecosystem supporting such crimes.
According to an official statement issued by the CBI, the conference brought together senior law enforcement officials, cybercrime experts and policymakers to deliberate on regulatory reforms, the use of artificial intelligence in investigations, and strengthening global cooperation to counter cybercrime.
A key area of discussion was the emerging threat of “cyber slavery,” where victims are trafficked or coerced into participating in overseas scam operations. Participants highlighted the urgent need for preventive mechanisms, enhanced international collaboration and comprehensive rehabilitation frameworks to address this growing concern.
The conference also examined the role of social media platforms, messaging services and other digital intermediaries in facilitating cyber fraud. Delegates emphasized the importance of faster data sharing and stronger coordination between technology companies and investigative agencies to curb online financial crimes effectively.
In addition, the event featured the sharing of best practices from successful cybercrime investigations across the country. Demonstrations of AI-driven investigative tools showcased how advanced technologies are enhancing detection capabilities, improving evidence analysis and strengthening inter-agency collaboration.
The conference concluded with a collective commitment to intensify coordinated efforts at the national and international levels to disrupt cybercriminal networks and safeguard citizens from evolving digital threats.
