Awareness Workshop and Field Demonstration on Arecanut Leaf Spot Disease Held at Barangi Hobli; Title Deeds Distributed Under Rural Plot Scheme
Sagara: An awareness workshop and field demonstration on the management of leaf spot disease in arecanut was successfully conducted in the Barangi Hobli area by Gopala Krishna Bellur MLA, with the objective of educating farmers on effective disease control measures. Agricultural experts explained the symptoms, causes, and preventive strategies for leaf spot disease and demonstrated recommended chemical and biological control methods, along with best practices in arecanut plantation management.
Arecanut growers actively participated in the programme and interacted with the experts, sharing their field-level experiences and seeking practical solutions. The initiative helped farmers gain hands-on knowledge aimed at reducing crop losses and improving overall productivity.

On the same occasion, a title deed distribution programme was organized under the Chief Minister’s Rural Plot Scheme. Eligible beneficiaries were issued land ownership documents, marking a significant step toward providing land security and permanent shelter to landless rural families. Beneficiaries expressed their gratitude for the government’s welfare-oriented initiative.

The programmes, led by MLA Gopala Krishna Bellur, reflected a combined focus on agricultural development and social welfare and received a positive response from farmers and rural residents across the Barangi Hobli region.
