Brutal Daylight Attack in Anandapura: Family Alleges Attempt to Murder, Loot and Assault — No Arrests Yet

Shivamogga: In a deeply disturbing incident that has triggered serious concerns over law and order, a family from Anandapura has alleged a brutal daylight attack involving attempted murder, violent trespassing, assault, and large-scale looting at their residence.
According to a complaint registered at the Anandapura Police Station (FIR No. 0056/2026), the incident occurred on April 3, 2026, around 10:30 AM at Lakshmi Nivasa, located on Ranganatha Street, opposite the post office.
⚠️ Mob Storms House in Broad Daylight
The complainants — Manjunath N, his wife Shanthi Manjunath, their children Swapna M and Arjun M, along with 87-year-old Lakshmamma — have alleged that a group of nearly 20 individuals, including men and women, forcibly entered their home.
The mob reportedly:
Assaulted family members using sticks and dangerous weapons
Injured Arjun and Swapna, who later received treatment at a government hospital
Issued death threats, creating panic and fear among the victims

The complaint includes grave allegations regarding the assault on Swapna, stating that:
She was physically attacked during the incident
Her clothing was allegedly pulled in an act described as outraging modesty
Multiple accused, including both men and women, participated in the assault
💰 House Ransacked, Gold Worth ₹25 Lakh Looted
The attackers allegedly caused extensive damage to the property:
Household items including television, furniture, and appliances were destroyed
Gold jewellery worth approximately ₹25 lakh was reportedly looted
Several valuables were taken during the attack
👥 Over 20 Accused Named
The family has named more than 20 individuals in the FIR, reportedly from B.H. Road (NH Road) and Ashok Road areas of Anandapura. The accused include members from multiple families, indicating a coordinated group attack.
