Malayali Samajam Assists Injured Kerala Nursing Student After Shivamogga Road Accident

Shivamogga: Four people were injured after a car rammed into a road divider on Savalanga Road in Shivamogga recently. Among the injured were two final-year B.Sc. Nursing students from Kerala studying at Subbaiah Nursing College, Shivamogga.

One of the students, Rebecca, suffered serious injuries, including a head injury that required eight stitches and a fractured spine. Due to the severity of her condition, doctors advised that she be shifted to Calicut Medical College, Kerala, for advanced treatment.

However, the family faced financial difficulties, as Rebecca’s father is not present and the cost of transportation was beyond their means. Seeking support, the family approached the Malayali Samajam in Shivamogga for assistance.

Responding promptly, prominent members of the Malayali Samajam — G. Ramachandra Pillai, S. Thankappan, Noushad, along with Satish N.D., President of the Malayali Samajam — visited the hospital and made arrangements for a free ambulance through the Samajam.

Rebecca and her mother, Nisha, were safely transported from Shivamogga to Calicut Medical College in Kerala. They reached Calicut today and Rebecca has since been admitted for further treatment.

After reaching Calicut Medical College, Rebecca expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the Malayali Samajam of Shivamogga for their timely help and support during a critical moment.
The gesture by the Malayali Samajam has been widely appreciated for exemplifying community solidarity and humanitarian service.
