Shivamogga: An inspiring incident showcasing honesty has earned public appreciation in Durgigudi area of the city.
On April 16, 2026, a customer named Gayathri accidentally left behind her vanity bag at New Itihas Collection Clothing Store. The bag was found by the store staff, Ms. Swathi and Ms. Sangeetha, who immediately handed it over to the shop owner, Marthanda.
Later, on April 21, 2026, the owner along with the staff submitted the bag at Jayanagar Police Station. In the presence of the Police Inspector, the bag was safely returned to its rightful owner.

The bag reportedly contained gold and other valuables worth approximately ₹5,00,000.

In recognition of their integrity, Ms. Swathi, Ms. Sangeetha, and Marthanda were felicitated and appreciated at the Jayanagar Police Station.
