Election Commission Announces Poll Dates for Five States; Voting From April 9
The Election Commission of India has officially announced the schedule for the upcoming assembly elections in several states and union territories, including West Bengal, Assam, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Puducherry.
According to the announcement, polling will be conducted in multiple phases beginning April 9, ensuring smooth and secure voting across the regions. The counting of votes will take place on May 4, when results for all constituencies are expected to be declared.

Officials stated that extensive preparations are underway to manage one of the country’s largest democratic exercises, involving millions of voters across these states. Security arrangements, deployment of election staff and transportation of voting equipment are being planned to ensure a free and fair election process.
The upcoming polls are seen as a significant political event, with major national and regional parties preparing for intense campaigns in the weeks ahead.
The Commission has urged voters to actively participate in the democratic process and exercise their right to vote responsibly.
