Indian Railways Completes Redevelopment of 180 Stations Under Amrit Bharat Station Scheme

Indian Railways has successfully completed redevelopment works at 180 railway stations as part of the nationwide Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, a major initiative aimed at modernising railway infrastructure across the country.
The scheme has identified 1,337 stations for redevelopment, with projects currently underway across multiple railway zones. The programme focuses on preparing long-term master plans for each station, improving passenger amenities, upgrading infrastructure, and enhancing connectivity with surrounding cities.
Officials stated that as redevelopment work continues at hundreds of locations, the initiative represents a broader push to transform India’s railway network into a modern, passenger-friendly transport system. The upgrades are expected to significantly improve commuter experience and strengthen urban connectivity.
