Government Defends Its Position on West Asia Crisis
New Delhi | March 13, 2026:
The Central Government has defended its handling of the ongoing West Asia crisis, stating that it is closely monitoring the situation and taking necessary steps to safeguard India’s fuel security. The government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi assured that authorities are working to ensure that the country’s supply of petroleum products and LPG remains stable despite rising geopolitical tensions in the region.
Government officials said that various ministries are coordinating efforts to assess the impact of the conflict on global energy markets and India’s imports. Measures are also being taken to ensure the safety and support of Indian citizens living and working in Gulf countries, where a large number of Indians are employed.
Responding to criticism from opposition parties, leaders from the ruling party said the government has been proactive in addressing the situation. They accused the opposition of politicizing the crisis instead of supporting efforts to maintain economic stability and energy security.
The government reiterated that it will continue to keep a close watch on developments in West Asia and take all necessary actions to protect the country’s economic interests and the welfare of Indian citizens abroad.
