Controversy Over ‘The Taj Story’ Poster

The upcoming film The Taj Story, starring Paresh Rawal and directed by Tushar Amrish Goel, has sparked controversy after the release of its promotional poster.
The poster features an image of a Lord Shiva idol appearing to emerge from the dome of the Taj Mahal along with the caption suggesting that hidden truths about history may exist. The imagery quickly triggered strong reactions on social media, with some critics accusing the filmmakers of attempting to promote a controversial historical narrative.
Amid growing criticism, the makers issued a clarification on X stating that the film does not claim the presence of a Shiv temple inside the Taj Mahal and is based on historical exploration rather than religious assertions.
Despite the clarification, opinions remain divided among viewers. While some support the film as creative storytelling, others believe the promotional material itself was provocative. The film is scheduled to release in theatres on October 31.
