India, Seychelles Strengthen Strategic Partnership with Joint Vision SESEL
New Delhi: India and Seychelles took a significant step towards deepening their bilateral partnership as Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Dr. Patrick Herminie of Seychelles held wide-ranging discussions in New Delhi on Tuesday.
The two leaders comprehensively reviewed all aspects of India–Seychelles relations and explored ways to further enhance cooperation across key sectors. The talks covered development partnership, capacity building, health, infrastructure development, blue economy, renewable energy, maritime security, and the strengthening of people-to-people ties.
A major outcome of the meeting was the adoption of the Joint Vision for Sustainability, Economic Growth and Security through Enhanced Linkages (SESEL), which aims to provide a strategic roadmap for future collaboration between the two nations.

In a significant announcement, Prime Minister Modi unveiled a Special Economic Package for Seychelles to support its developmental priorities. The package will focus on critical areas such as public housing, mobility, infrastructure development, capacity building, and maritime security, reflecting India’s continued commitment to Seychelles’ socio-economic progress.
Further cementing the partnership, both sides exchanged several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) covering diverse sectors, including health, digital cooperation, meteorology, culture, ocean science, food security, and governance.
The visit and the agreements come as India and Seychelles mark 50 years of diplomatic relations, underscoring the enduring friendship and shared vision for stability, prosperity, and security in the Indian Ocean region.
