Police Review Security Arrangements Ahead of Marikamba Devi Jatra in Sagara

Sagara, Shivamogga District: In view of the upcoming Marikamba Devi Jatra in Sagara, a review meeting was held on February 4, 2026, to assess and strengthen security and public convenience arrangements for the annual religious event.

Senior police officials visited Sagara in the afternoon and held detailed discussions with local administrative and police authorities regarding the overall bandobast (security deployment). Emphasis was placed on ensuring smooth darshan arrangements, effective traffic management, and maintaining law and order in the interest of the public.

Officials provided necessary guidance on crowd control measures, movement of devotees, and emergency preparedness during the festival. Instructions were also issued on steps to be taken to prevent any untoward incidents and to ensure a peaceful and orderly conduct of the jatra.

During the visit, concerns and grievances raised by officers and personnel deployed for bandobast duty were heard and addressed. The officials also interacted with members of the public to understand their expectations and to reassure them of adequate security and support during the festivities.

The police department reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring a safe, smooth, and hassle-free experience for devotees, while maintaining public order throughout the Marikamba Devi Jatra.
