Railways Run Special Trains Between Katra and Srinagar Amid Heavy Passenger Rush
Jammu: In view of a heavy passenger rush between Vaishno Devi Katra and Srinagar due to inclement weather and the closure of roads and flight services, the railway authorities have permitted the operation of reserved special trains to facilitate stranded travellers.
According to officials, four special train services will operate today and tomorrow between Katra and Srinagar, with an en route halt at Banihal. The decision has been taken to ensure safe, smooth and convenient travel for passengers affected by the disruption of regular transport services in the region.
The special train services are expected to provide significant relief to pilgrims, tourists, and local passengers who have been facing difficulties due to adverse weather conditions.
Railway authorities have advised passengers to check train schedules and reservation status in advance, as demand is likely to remain high during this period. Passengers can obtain further information through the official Indian Railways website, the railway helpline number 139, or the National Train Enquiry System.
